How This Website Works

We offer for your viewing pleasure the entirety of The Haiku Blues. You can read it all online…a few at a time…at different times….or all at once (not recommended). Our webmaster has created a beautiful and practical design to display each haiku, one we believe will draw you into each one and help you consider it thoroughly. Thus, The Haiku Blues is a free, haiku-friendly electronic book.

Obviously, if the viewer wants, she or he can download each and every haiku from this site. Please feel free to do that. However, each downloaded haiku will appear replete with the artwork at the top of the page, the background design, the sidebars and the printing information at the bottom.

If you would like to purchase a much more artistic and practical version of any or every haiku, our website is constructed to do that for you at minimal expense. For a mere $0.75 ( U.S.), i.e., 75 cents, you can purchase via “Paypal” three different, aesthetically pleasing renditions of each haiku. One comes in a “post-it”note size with an illustrated background. A second is in the form of a greeting card that you can fold and put into an envelope or on someone’s desk. The third is 8 ½ x 11 inches and is suitable for framing.

If you would like to see how this actually works, click on “10 Free Haikus” in the left hand sidebar and go to the first one. At the bottom of the page, click on “Download Free Haiku.” When the “File Download” window appears, click on “Open.” (Hopefully your computer is equipped with Adobe Acrobat). A new window will pop up…with three files on it. Click on each and you will see how the post-it note, the greeting card and the 8 ½ x11 will look. Any of these can then be downloaded by clicking on “File” and then “Print.”

We welcome your downloading these sets of haikus. You can use and enjoy them any way you like. We only ask that if you use any of them for commercial purposes, that you give us attribution (The Haiku Blues) and that if you make a profit, that you remit 5% of that to us. We promise we will only use “The Honor System” to enforce our copyright.
